This vinyl package design was a runner-up for the Bent River Records vinyl design contest in the Fall of 2024. The album titled Home Brew was created by the Kennedy McLeod Quintet, a Canadian jazz group comprised of individuals from across the country. The package consists of a vinyl cover, insert sheet, and disc label.
The design itself is meant to evoke feelings of comfort and unity in its colours and simplicity. The wood-grain shapes interlocking with each other imply a connection between two entities and are placed upon the washed-out blue photo of the Canadian prairies not only create strong contrast in colour and shape but tie into the themes of home and valuable connections.
